Become part of the Camp Four Echoes Team!

Spend your summer on the wooded shores of Lake Coeur d’Alene and come enjoy our NEW LODGE! Camp Four Echoes is our resident Girl Scout camp; we are in need of Camp Counselors, Cooks, Waterfront Staff, a Camp Nurse and many other staff members!

Men and women, 18 years and older, are encouraged to apply. All salaries include room and board and are based on an entire season. Salaries will be pro-rated for working a partial season. Internships are available.

Administration

Assistant Camp Director: Salary $2,600. Assist Camp Director in camp preparation and staff training utilizing successful experiences in administration and leadership. Supervise unit staff. Be responsible for camp in absence of Camp Director. Cover Program Director position on her/his days off. Qualifications: Experience in organized camping and outdoor program development, experience in staff supervision, excellent communication skills, and knowledge of Girl Scout Program. 21 years or older preferred.

Program Director: Salary: $2,500. Assist Camp Director in camp preparation and staff training. Cover assistant Camp Director Position on her/his days off. Oversee unit activities and all camp programs. Coordinate Community Partners with camp program. Work with Tripping/Transportation Coordinator. Qualifications: Strong leadership skills with successful experiences in developing and implementing outdoor programs and knowledge of Girl Scout Program, high energy and ability to give guidance to program staff.   21 years or older preferred.

Kitchen

Head Cook: Salary $2,200.  Responsible for all aspects of food service including planning, purchasing, and preparation.  Supervises other kitchen personnel. Supervise kitchen staff. Qualifications: Experience in large quantity cooking, purchasing, and in food service staff supervision.  21 years or older preferred.

Weekend Head Cook: Salary:$800 Will provide weekend relief for head cook taking direction from head cook. May expect to be cooking for up to 200 people or as few as 30. Will have staff to assist. Qualifications: Food service experience.

Assistant Cook: Salary $1,600 Assists with meal preparation and other kitchen activities, such as filling food orders for cookouts and trips.  Qualifications: Food service experience.  21 years or older preferred. 

Kitchen Assistant: Salary $1250. Assist with meals, dishwashing, cleaning and filling food orders for cookouts and trips. 16 years or older.

Waterfront

Waterfront Director: Salary:$2,000  Supervision of all waterfront activities, including scheduling, training and supervision of waterfront team. Qualifications: Current Waterfront Lifeguard certification. Supervisory experience in a lakefront environment, experience in boating, canoeing, windsurfing and/or sailing desired. 21 years or older preferred.

Waterfront Specialist (Lifeguard): Salary: $1,700. Assist Waterfront Director in guarding, swimming and boating activities. Cover waterfront director position on her/his days off. Qualifications: Current Waterfront Lifeguard certification. Experience in canoeing, kayaking, windsurfing and/or sailing a plus. 18 years or older.

Support

Health Supervisor: Salary: $2,200. Responsible for all aspects of the health care facility including health screening of staff and campers, medication management, attending to first aid and medical needs of campers and staff, maintaining unit first aid kits and overseeing health and hygiene practices of camp. Qualifications: Current first aid and CPR certification. Licensed RN, LPN, EMT, nursing student preferred. Valid driver’s license, 21 years or older.

Health Supervisor Part Time: Salary: $75 per day    Duties: Same as above in the absence of health supervisor, typically 3 day shifts.  Actual days to be determined after hire of health supervisor; possible weekend assignment.

Tripping/Transportation Coordinator: Salary $1,700. Assist campers and staff in preparing for trips, move luggage on opening and closing days, be responsible for planning out trips and coordinating/driving camper to and from camp, coordinate with the kitchen staff, ensure all safety goals are met and substitute as a counselor to provide staff breaks. Qualifications: Strong outdoor leadership skills with successful experiences in developing and implementing outdoor program. Current Wilderness First Aid/Responder certification a definite plus. 21 years or old, 25 years or older preferred.

Business Manager: Salary: $2,000. Operate the Trading Post (camp store) including: accurate inventories, receipting money, making sales to campers, staff, and parents during opening and closing days and preparing deposits. Oversee camp budget and kitchen orders. Run errands in town and help keep business part of camp running. Qualifications: Experience in bookkeeping, budget management, sales, and computers; strong organizational and attention to detail skills. Valid driver license. 21 years or older preferred.

Arts/Crafts Specialist: Salary: $1,400. Responsible for planning and implementation of program, organize and maintain supplies and equipment. Qualifications: Creative, crafty personality with willingness to teach local ecology and conservation. 18 years or older preferred. 

Nature Specialist: Salary: $1,500.  Responsible for planning and instruction of program, will develop science curriculum for camp at appropriate age and interest level for all camp sessions. Qualifications: Experience instructing and developing science program. Must assist in transportation of campers; 21 years or over required as well as great driving record.

Janitor Assistant:  Salary: $1,500. Routinely maintain the cleanliness of our new lodge working from a checklist for each area including, but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, windows, trash, stocking lodge and units with supplies, assist in getting luggage to and from units, making minor repairs and reporting maintenance needs throughout camp. Qualifications: Self-motivated, 16 years or older.

Unit Staff

Unit Counselor: Salary: $1,400 Working with a team of 2-3 other counselors, coordinate unit program activities and provide campers with a positive, fun learning experience.  Maintain records and generate as needed.  Qualifications: Experience supervising and working with children; Girl Scout Program knowledge desired. Ideal candidates are creative and eager to engage kids in exploring the outdoors while maintaining the highest sense of safety and good judgment.  Possess a desire to create lasting learning experience for campers while providing excellent role model for campers.  Canoeing, sailing and/or windsurfing experience/certification beneficial.  Camping experience helpful; 18 years or older preferred. 

Unit Leader:  Salary: $1,650-$1,850. This position operates as Unit Counselor while acting as a team leader in supervising and supporting other Unit Counselors.  Qualifications: Experience supervising and working with children and adults. Girl Scout Program knowledge desired. Ideal candidates are creative and eager to engage kids in exploring the outdoors while maintaining the highest sense of safety and good judgment.  Possess a desire to create lasting learning experience for campers while providing excellent role model for campers.  Canoeing, sailing and/or windsurfing experience/certification beneficial.  Camping experience helpful; 21 years or older preferred. 

Unit Lifeguard /Counselor: Salary: $1,550 This position is the same as unit counselor with the exception that person has lifeguard certification and will provide lifeguarding duties as well.

Leadership Director (Counselor-in-Training Director): Salary: $2,000.  Implements Counselor-in-Training program.  Qualifications: Experience supervising, mentoring and working with teens. Girl Scout Program knowledge desired.  21 years or older preferred
